Nurse By Heart, Provider By Choice
I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with over 20 years of experience in the medical field. Throughout my nursing career, I witnessed firsthand the lack of humanistic care and patient advocacy within healthcare. Rather than continue to observe these gaps, I chose to be part of the solution. After many years in clinical RN practice, I earned my Master’s in Nursing from Western Governors University in 2020 and completed my post-master’s PMHNP training at Wilkes University in 2024. In outpatient practice, my focus has been on bridging communication and care gaps so patients feel truly heard and supported.
Advocacy is central to my work. I am deeply committed to supporting vulnerable and underserved populations, including women, children, minorities, and individuals who have historically faced barriers to quality mental health care; Everyone deserves access to care that is dignified, respectful, and affirming. As a lifelong learner, I remain dedicated to integrating evidence-based psychiatric care with holistic strategies that promote long-term wellness, resilience, and self-empowerment.
Both my personal and professional values were profoundly shaped by my grandmother, a lifelong learner who earned her PhD in counseling later in life and was a fierce advocate for children, women, minorities, and the unheard. Her perseverance, faith, compassion, and commitment to justice continue to guide my work. This practice is dedicated to her legacy and to the belief that growth, healing, and transformation are possible at any stage of life, it simply takes a little faith and a lot of action!
As a mother of three and one of five siblings, I understand the challenges of balancing personal well-being, family responsibilities, and life’s many demands. Outside of clinical work, I enjoy cooking, traveling, and spending time with my family, experiences that reinforce my belief in connection, nourishment, rest, and joy as essential components of mental health. My goal is to partner with individuals and families in a collaborative, empowering way, offering care that supports clarity, balance, and fulfillment.
Values & Philosophy of Care
My philosophy of care is rooted in the belief that healing is not one-size-fits-all. Mental health is shaped by physical health, lived experience, culture, environment, and relationships. I approach each person with curiosity, compassion, and respect, recognizing you as the expert on your own life. My role is to walk alongside you, providing clinical expertise, guidance, and support while empowering informed decision-making.
I practice from a holistic, integrative framework that blends evidence-based psychiatric treatment and medication management with attention to lifestyle, nutrition, sleep, stress, relationships, and personal strengths. When appropriate, integrative strategies are incorporated to support sustainable healing, not just symptom relief.
Advocacy, cultural responsiveness, trauma-informed care, and collaboration guide my practice. Above all, I believe in hope that healing, growth, and transformation are always possible. My mission is to help individuals reconnect with their strengths, reclaim their voice, and move forward with confidence, clarity, and purpose.
You don’t have to navigate your mental health journey alone.
